Not only was this decade great for hair bands, but it was also filled with un-freaking believable guitar players. Satriani, Via, Macalpine, Van Halen, Lynch, Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert hell even Billy Sheehan was better than most.

I love Steve Vai... I saw him in concert by accident(opening up for BonJovi) a few years back (his Crazy horse tour) and he was unbelievable. His guitar playing is so melodic and clean...He didn't need a band to play with him... all eyes and ear were tuned into him alone!!
The man gave me chills.

Speaking of Steve Vai, did you catch the G3 DVD featuring Steve Vai, Satch, and John Petrucci? Man is it awesome.
I'm a Petrucci fan myself, but all are amazing.

I loved listening to Satriani, Malmsteen and MacAlpine. Having an older brother really expanded my musical tastes.
