Hey rock fans!
My son Spence and I were fortunate enough to see RUSH this past Thursday @ the Marcus Amphitheater in Milwaukee. WOW!! These guys never cease to amaze me. After 30+ years, they still can kick some major a__!! And there production...5 tour buses and 9 semi's!! That's almost as big as our show...........right!
Lighting and sound are still some of the best I have ever seen and heard. They looked and sounded 2nd-to-none. Yes, it was that good.
Geddy was in "superb" voice. They played Circumstances from "Hemispheres", and I have to admit I was a little skeptical, but he nailed it!! Then they did Free Will from "Permanent Waves" and he "stung" that one as well. He was in excellent form vocally, just awesome. He was once again a ball of energy as well on stage, rippin' it up on bass, leapin' here and there, running from stage left to right and at certain times laughin' it up w/ Neal behind the kit. Excellent, excellent show.
Speaking of Neal, he was solid as usual. Some of the tempos seemed a bit "dragged", or maybe it was because I was so pumped. Some great camera work let us see some of his foot work during his drum solo, as well as some cross-over stick moves. Very solid. The same for Alex. Dead-on and solid. Alex also looked like he lost some much needed weight as well.
This may or not be there last tour, who knows. But if in deed it is, they definitely are leaving an awesome "lasting impression" in everybody's memory banks. One that will bring smiles everytime RUSH is heard or talked about. THANKS guys!!
