Hey...Glinda is really excited!!!! So damn lucky....OMG!!
In the month of May I will be doing a month long gig w/ an Off Broadway playwright/actor named Mike Craver of North Carolina. The smalltown theatre director south of Monroe and just into Illinois called me and asked if I would be their keyboard player for the show "Bosh and Moonshine" while Mr. Craver takes the stage, etc. ( Quite a different genre than my fave rock stuff but GO for the opportunity, right???) Here come the cowboy polkas and ballads...with some sounding like the cute Sesame Street- type catchy, yet tongue-twister tunes..oh my.
Some of them sound a little corny so I can relate how some of you "After Darkens" felt when you made the "Boot Scootin' Boogie" tune to please the country music crowd which was so popular in the early 90's....bluccckkkk. (I'm guilty as well for buying some God ugly leather boots but won't go into any further detailin' since it makes me cringe a little.)
The goal according to the director is to perform in northern Illinois and southern Wisco in different venues each weekend. If you have any advice on how you keep sane during all of this, I will be able to compare the craziness it must involve. Entertaining is certainly immeasurable once you connect with the ones that really appreciate it all. Wish me luck! (Carl will like this..I think there may be a gay cowboy part in this musical - yikes) CIAO!!! Here's some info about the accomplished,Mr. Mike...
